walmart must be doing something right because they are a juggernaut. i live far from the nearest walmart,i wish one was closer. They are open 24 hours often, they are cheaper than everyone else, and they have a liberal return policy. if your walmart is dirty,if the have no shopping carts, if the bathroom is dirty, u should go to the district manager. all those problems are because of bad management. yes, they kill local businesses, but actually ,thats not them, thats you buying their crap. if u hate them so much, dont go there. as far as employees, they are the largest private employer in the country. they actually have employees that have been there over 30 years.

I worked there my senior year. After my 3 months during my review I was told what a great job I was doing but when they were filling out my papers they were marking mediocre attributes. So I got a huge $.25 an hr raise. After working there 7 months I put in a notice that I needed a Fri. and Sat. off in 2 months since it was my graduation that weekend. well the week rolls up schedual comes out and no I didnt get them off but the suck ass other workers did and were being gawed at by the other workers when I asked wtf was going on they said they didnt get me notice. So Sat. when I was suppose to come to work they didnt get that notice I never came back. it's been ten years ago and within a week of leaving I had a better job paying $3 more an hr and I have never worked for as crappy pay as that place again. And my story is leaving out a ton of other bs that went on while I was there. My best advice is if you can shop somewhere else even if it will cost a little bit more I would instead of supporting these assholes they care about no one or thing except money they try to make a good front but their really sweatshop pushers.

I cannot believe the understaffing and poor customer relations that are apparently the common practice in my local Walmart store. Every time I go in there (which isn't often), I find my self at the very least frustrated and disappointed, if not, livid by the time I am ready to actually walk out of the store. Between the lack of associates to offer assistance, the ridiculous wait time in the check-out lines, and my personal pet peeve, the self check-outs, I cannot remember a time that I had even a satisfactory shopping experience, let alone, a good one. Today was the icing on the cake! The day after Christmas and the store was, as usual, completely understaffed. Am I the only one who thinks that common sense would tell the management team that thousands of people receive Walmart gift cards for Christmas gifts and that the smart thing to do would be to staff accordingly for the week or two after the holiday?! There have been times when I have just left my cart full of items and gone to another store. I would not even have been in there today, except my children and I had received Walmart gift cards. I've said it before, but this time I mean it; unless I have received a gift card expressly for Walmart, I am done patronizing their stores! It took forever to be assisted in the electronic department, the 3 check-out lanes that were actually run by cashiers had lines longer than ever, the self check-out gave my daughter problems (and of course not an associate could be found to help), and to top it off the earrings I purchased will not even unclasp so that I can remove them from the back they come on. Now I HAVE to go back so that I can return the stinking earrings....ARGGHH! After that, though, I am DONE WITH WALMART!

There is enough physical proof that WalMart is Evil. Go to any place where there is a WalMart. At every location you will find that the little guys have been run out of buisnes. You WILL find many vacant office properties. Many shopping strips with over half of it for rent because who was there was put out of work. That is the physical evidence I speak of. To make things better it is not done by accident. It is a diliberate function of WalMart.

Here is how it works. They scout out an area where there are plans to try and build a WalMart. They find out what the hot items are in the location. When the store finaly opens they slash the prices on all the hot items they discovered. Even if it means they lose profit in the sale. They know you will buy other things while you are in there. Eventualy WalMart gains full control of those hot items and the surrounding stores can no longer compete. As a result they lay down thier hat and close down. They are put out of buisness. Once that happens Walmart will then raise the prises on those select hot items since the compitition is now gone.

Am I making that up? Have you ever been in a brand new WalMart right when it opened. There are great prices on the things you bought nearby. They are cheap. As time goes on you will notice those prices increase on some items. That price increase means that part of the compitition has been cut out by underselling what they sold before WalMart opened the doors.

Even though this is a great buisness stratigy it puts many out of work. That is not fair and is Evil. If you shop at WalMart you are supporting thier practice. By buying something there you are saying you agree with putting surrounding buisnesses out of work along with all the Employees that lost thier jobs due to Buisnes closure. You are just as guilty as WalMart if you shop there.

Still think I am making this up then go out there and see for yourself. All those places ment to contain buisnesses are mostly empty as you get closer to a Wal Mart. That alone is the proof to what I said.

Not to mention WalMart treats thier employees like DOG DOO. Underpay and expect them to work hellasious hours. Looking at the statistics it shows Walmart has over a 70% turn arround. This means that over 70% of employees either quit or get fired within thier first year. That is proof to how they treat thier employees. Not to mention that they WILL be fired for comming to sites like this.

You want to keep thing running unfair then shop at WalMart. If you want to try and fix thier damage then never step foot in a WalMart.

WalMart will die eventualy. All big companies do. I just wish it was today. Target is catching up to them now.

Speaking of their 'cheer', I was in Walmart one day when they were doing the cheer. I came up behind some of the employees, and when the boss shouted, What have you got" (the answer is to shout Walmart), I shouted 'RIPOFF'. She freaked and thought one of her employees did it. They all got a dressing down. I went away, laughing my butt off.

I have a disability and used their complimentary mobility cart. I barely got the cart back to the recharging area and before I could get it turned around and backed into the space, an employee came out barking at me to turn the cart around and plug it in to recharge. I have to move slowly because of arthritis and post polio syndrome, and she got very bossy and demanding. Fortunately, they're not the only game in town and I will be shopping elsewhere. I can't stand the whole business of greeters. I want to be left alone to get my stuff, get out of there and go on with my day without having to say hello to some complete stranger.

I think that people need to come together as a community to rid ourselves of the walmart menace. The question then becomes, how do we get rid of the walmart in our town? The only way I am aware of that worked was a serious drive among the staff to unionize. This happened in Quebec, the staff was determined to unionize - walmart packed up and left town! Infiltrate and unionize! Also, I think that it might help if a movement developed where ordinary members of the public flipped the bird to anyone seen doing business with wallyworld.
