More evidence that Gateway is still having problems. Luckily for investors, Gateway has a huge hoard of cash, and can continue to lose money for a few years without going bankrupt. But at some point they have to get turned around. The recent ads with their computer hopping over an iMac didn't help because I don't think Apple is their main competitor. They compete more with Dell and HP. My suggestion to Gateway would be to find a niche that allows them to compete, the way Target did so that it didn't have to face Wal-Mart directly. Gateway should focus on gamers, or maybe blue collar workers who don't use computers much. It's tough, because the consumer PC has become somewhat of a commodity.
