Women are the one’s who make most of the buying decisions in the household, everything from groceries to appliances and cars. Women keep the gears of the consumer economy moving.

The biggest contribution to the economy women make? They are the main consumers for clothing, appliances, groceries, you name it!

By very nature of the expectations of society that women be shaved, plucked, exfoliated, polised, groomed, sweet smelling, women contribute to the economy by purchasing products to meet those ideals. They also contribute by being wage earners, meal planners, shoppers, and preparers, and by having children and making sure their wants and needs are satisfied.

Other than giving birth to future consumers? I think women’s biggest contribution is all the unpaid work we do – childcare, housekeeping, personal assistants, etc. This frees up money within the the household that is spent on items like iPods, Xboxs and Disney cruises.

Women also influence purchasing decisions – sometimes not what is bought (for example, a personal computer) but rather what brand is bought (HP over Dell). Corporate America is keenly aware of this, as evidenced by the increased marketing effort towards women (TV commercials, ads in womens’ magazines, etc.). Even car manufacturers (a traditionally male-oriented business) are beginning to listen to their women consumers, given that women influence ~85% of all automotive sales in the US.

I would say that women do a better job of keeping a level head and a good perspective on complicated situations. The world would be a better place if there were more of us calling the shots! :)

Women are vital the the society and the economy of every nation. Without them, men would be lonely! Women do so much for the family, and I love my wife for everything she does for me, our family, and her job! She is does everything and I love her and respect her like no other!

We both have been researching the HP iPAQ Glisten for some time now and I’d really like to give this phone to my wife as a present, she really wants it for her birthday!

I think women in general are just more instinctive and are able to really understand rather than just make decisions that’s not very sound.

Women are said to now drive the economy.
I think last I heard they were controlling 20 trillion in consumer spending and that was rising by the year. Thats a lot of drive.

I think the biggest contribution women make to the economy is definitely our spending and therefore we stimulate the economy. We buy the majority of the household items: groceries, clothing, food, appliances, bedding, shoes etc!
