New moms who work at Zillow will soon receive four months of paid leave and $1,000 to spend on their new family addition.
The Seattle-based real estate marketplace now offers new moms 16 weeks of fully paid leave, up from 12 weeks of partially-paid leave. New dads also now have the option to take eight weeks at full salary. Adoptive parents also receive eight weeks of paid leave.
“We want to support and do everything we can to help employees grow their careers and families and make it easier to balance both,” said Amy Bohutinsky, chief operating officer at Zillow (ZG).
All new parents will receive a $1,000 Amazon gift card.
All full-time workers are eligible for the increased benefits starting on January 1, 2016. Parents expecting a child in the fourth quarter of 2015 can also take advantage of the new leave benefits.
Zillow employees more than 2,300 employees. The company made headlines when it decided to start shipping a new mothers’ breast milk home at no charge to the mother when they are business trips. The breast milk policy has been in effect since 2010.
The company also has a discretionary vacation policy that allows employees to determine how much vacation they would like to take throughout the year.
