Since its founding in December 1994, American Pacific University or AmPac located in Honolulu, Hawaii, offered distance education programs using the correspondence method. From onset, the university aimed to offer degree programs that would promote academic excellence via learning acquired through “a much more flexible basis than can be accomplished at traditional colleges and universities.”
The university started out by offering degree level education in Hypnotherapy and, in 1999, adding Esoteric Studies in the doctoral level to its degree program offerings. Prior to the launch of these courses, there were no other colleges or universities in the United States that allowed for the study of these subjects in the degree level.
Today, AmPac offers a Master’s degree in Transpersonal Psychology – a branch of psychology that focuses on the study of the “whole” human being and its connection with others, nature and the spiritual dimension. The program is designed to help professionals function effectively in the field of psychotherapy, hypnotherapy, health and wellness, healing arts, counseling, coaching, communications education, training and presenting, working with agencies, non-profit organizations, and corporate and management areas for organizational development and change. The AmPac learning environment helps students acquire academic skills while giving them a deeper insight into themselves that will help them achieve their highest potential.
Tuition for the Master of Arts in Transpersonal Psychology is US$485 per credit hour or US$1,455 per course since all courses are 3 credit hours. Total tuition for the entire online program is US$22,910. This does not include the cost of textbooks. Financial assistance is extended to help students pay for their tuition.
Accredited by the Distance Education and Training Council Accrediting Commission, AmPac is positioned to become a leader in distance education in the 21st century.
