Stevenson University was founded as Villa Julie College by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur in 1947. It originally trained women to become medical secretaries but the scope and scale of the school’s academic offerings grew through the years, adapting to the growing needs of the community in Maryland. Today, Stevenson University offers runs two campuses and offers both undergraduate and graduate programs. Most classes are held on-campus however, a few selected courses are available online.
Stevenson University’s School of Graduate and Professional Studies offers accelerated Bachelor’s programs as well as Graduate-level programs that can be completed on-site or online. Stevenson’s list of accelerated online bachelor’s programs include Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Criminal Justice, Interdisciplinary Studies, Nursing (RN to BS), and Paralegal Studies. The online graduate programs (master’s degrees) are in Advanced Information Technologies, Business and Technology Management, Forensic Science, Forensic Studies, and Nursing (Nursing Education of Nursing Leadership/Management)
The tuition fees for the online courses at Stevenson’s School of Graduate and Professional Studies are $465.00 per credit unit for online undergraduate programs, $530.00 per credit unit for online graduate programs, and $510.00 per credit unit for online graduate nursing programs. Financial aid in the form of federal grants, loans and scholarships are available to eligible students.

Stevenson University is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education and by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. Its Paralegal program is accredited by the American Bar Association and the Nursing program is accredited by the National League for nursing Accrediting Commission.
