“Thirty straight years as the No. 1 entrepreneurship MBA, and it isn't close.”

Scorecard
Four pillars, weighted into the BP ScoreOur review
U.S. News has ranked Babson first in entrepreneurship for three decades, ahead of Stanford and MIT, and the streak is earned rather than inherited. Every first-year runs a real funded venture through Foundations of Management and Entrepreneurship — revenue, customers, a liquidation at year’s end — before most MBA students have finished accounting.
Judge Babson on conventional stats and it loses: median base pay around $120,000, placement near 80%, a 640 average GMAT. Judge it on founders per capita, family businesses professionalized, and the density of classmates who will co-sign a lease on an idea, and the M7 comparison inverts. More than half the class is international, much of it from family enterprises that sent their successor here on purpose.
The Butler accelerator, a maker space, and a faculty of exited founders round out a campus that treats employment statistics as a side effect. That honesty is the pitch and the warning.
What impressed us
- Venture-first curriculum. Real funded businesses in semester one.
- Founder faculty. Professors with exits, not just citations.
- Family-business depth. The global successor class studies here.
What gave us pause
- Corporate-stat weakness. Pay and placement trail every school above.
- Self-selection required. Employees-at-heart will be miserable.
The verdict
If the plan is to start or inherit a company, Babson teaches that better than any school in America and has for thirty years. If the plan is a corporate ladder, the salary table above tells you everything.
