Kansas posted the 2026 cycle’s biggest gain, 21 places to No. 51 per Poets&Quants — partly methodology weather, partly a program the Kansas City employer base (Cerner’s successors, Garmin, the animal-health corridor) already rated higher than the tables did. Small class, $34,000 resident cost, forty minutes from the metro’s hiring.
