At the end of 2015 Apple had sold through 896 million iPhone devices. Wall Street analysts’ believe after the company reports its first quarter sales on April 25, it will have sold 50 million smartphones for the first three months of 2016.

Based on those estimates Apple will have sold 946 million iPhones to date.

During the current quarter, analysts polled by FactSet said they expect Apple to sell another 44 million, devices by the end of June, pushing the total to 990 million.

If those numbers hold up, Apple should cross the billion iPhone sales mark before the end of July 2016.

Let’s just put this milestone into perspective. If we combined every iPad, iPad, and Mac sale since 1993, the iPhone has outsold all of them — combined.

In terms of iOS devices combined, Apple sold its 1 billionth iOS gadget in November 2014.

Experts believe Apple should sell its 2 billionth iPhone by 2020.
