Best known for its traditional engineering and technological core, the Oregon Institute of Technology (OIT) presently offers practical education that leads to careers in business and management, engineering, information technology, environmental science, renewable energy and the health professions. Its main campus is located in Klamath Falls but has several other campuses in La. Grande, Portland and Seattle. It also offers web-based degree-completion programs and four-year online degrees in Information Technology and Operations Management. OIT is accredited by Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities.
The online programs are offered through Oregon Institute of Technology’s Office of Distance Education. Documentation required for admission includes official college transcripts or high school transcript (whichever is applicable), licensure and registry documentation and GED certificate and score, among others. Distance Education classes usually run in ten (10) weeks. However, prospective students can opt for the non-admit application which allows students to take online classes for up to eight (8) credit hours per term. Those seeking admission to online degree-completion programs in Allied Health, Dental Hygiene, Echocardiograph, IT Online, Operations Management, Respiratory Care and Vascular Technology can start the admissions process by completing the online application for admission to Distance Education programs.
Qualified students are eligible for financial aid but needs to be fully admitted first to Oregon Institute of Technology aside from enrolling in at least six (6) credit hours per term. Online courses would require books as well as supplementary materials which can also be ordered online. Distance Education tuition rate is $ 200.00 per credit hour. A distance delivery fee of $ 60.00 is charged for each online course. Tuition rates are reviewed annually.
