University of the Rockies Online

The University of the Rockies was founded as the Colorado School of Professional Psychology in 1998. It was originally established to provide professional graduate education in psychology. It adapted its present name in 2007 when it was purchased by Bridgepoint Education. The university is now comprised of the School of Professional Psychology and the School of Organizational Leadership.

Online programs are offered by both schools. Graduate certificates are offered in Business Psychology, Criminology and Justice Studies, General Psychology, and Organizational Leadership. The Master of Arts in Psychology is likewise offered in various specializations such as General Psychology, Mental Health Administration, Organizational Diversity, Sports and Performance Psychology, and Executive Coaching, among others. Online programs in Doctor of Psychology are provided in more or less the same specializations offered in the graduate level. Students taking online programs of the university are able to integrate psychology applications with business and leadership elements. The university is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association.

Specific information, form and fees have to be submitted by prospective students to the Admissions Office which may include official transcripts, autobiography, letters of recommendation, consent to a criminal background check, a non-refundable application fee and a completed application for admission. Tuition for graduate certificate programs and the Master of Arts in Psychology cost $ 640.00 per credit hour. Doctorate degree tuition costs $ 840.00 per credit hour. Eligibility for financial aid is premised on an applicant’s acceptance into a degree program, demonstration of financial need, and the maintenance of satisfactory academic progress. A student is considered full-time for financial aid purposes if enrolled in at least six (6) credit hours per term. Students pursuing a graduate certificate are therefore not eligible for financial aid.

Most of the good reviews provided by students are related to the excellent quality of education and the professionalism of instructors and university staff.
