Graceland University is a private, four-year liberal arts school located in Lamoni, Iowa. It was called Graceland College when it was founded in 1895. The name changed to Graceland University only in 2000. Graceland University’s campus offerings include sixty bachelor degree options and three master’s degree programs in the fields of nursing, education and religion.
The university has a distance education program and its online offerings include two master’s degrees (Master of Education and Master of Science in Nursing), two bachelor’s degrees (Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Bachelor of Arts in Health Care Management) and an RN to MSN program. It is important to note, however, that depending on the program enrolled in, students taking online will need to visit the campus. Only those enrolled in the online education programs are exempt from making campus visits.
Admission requirements for Graceland University is program-dependent. Undergraduate applicants will have a different set of requirements from those applying for graduate programs. All programs at Graceland University are approved and accredited by their respective professional governing bodies. The teacher-education programs, for example, are approved by the Iowa Department of Education and are accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education. The university itself, is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, and is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of Illinois.
